Conducting restoration triage in a protected zone.
Are there any objects among the mould-infested holdings that you no longer need to keep? If yes, we recommend an initial intervention.
The idea behind an initial intervention is reducing the number of spores in the room and preventing them from spreading to other objects in the archival space. As soon as docusave’s specialists have conducted an initial intervention on site, you can make a pre-selection (restoration triage), thus reducing the number of objects that will be treated while also preventing the mould from spreading. Another advantage of restoration triage is that it lowers the cost of decontamination.
Setting up a protected zone.
Before conducting the initial intervention, the docusave team sets up an isolated, negative-pressure zone as well as an airlock on site. Protective gear is mandatory for accessing this zone. After the initial intervention is completed, you may enter the zone wearing protective gear – and begin sorting your documents. Our specialists are happy to advise you.
